Random Encounters
andom Encounter Rules
Random encounters (RE’s for short) is a group designed for RP’rs to get the chance to play monsters/random thieves/ninjas etc…. within the sim. It’s a group meant to be fun, enable people to be silly with at times, and further the enjoyment of RP’ing in the FF7 sim. But like the sim they have rules, as follows. (NOTE: These are secondary rules, the sim rules take priority over everything, these are simply rules aimed at RE’s specifically)
1. RE’s can be ignored by Rp’ers who are IC if they choose . If so you cannot attack, provoke IC or OOC the person/s for ignoring you, doing so will risk GM involvement.
2. Please try not to interrupt any serious RP going on with your RE character. This also falls into the first rule that you can be ignored. If you wish to engage a large group of people, try to sit around and determine what is going on first, before acting.
3. Just because your a RE doesn’t mean you can fly. If you wish to play a bird/flying like RE you MUST get GM approval for it first. If not you can still play the creature, just without the ability to fly. This also includes any enhancers (Jump, dash, block etc.) Anything and everything like them would need approval.
4. Once you are defeated just as in the games, the monster would disappear, (This means that it can be killed off, or PK’d because it isn’t a main character) so when you are defeated do not reset your hud and attack the same people again. Give it some time or move to a different area all together. Granted if the Rp’rs don’t mind it, then you may but otherwise you must put in some time between attacking. On certain occasions a boss may occur on the scene, but try to have it appear after a few Random Encounters have been taking down first. This mainly pertains to those with RE FFRC’s (*Read below in regards to them*) Note that boss’s ARE still considered Random Encounters and you must wear the RE Boss tag unless a specific group pertains to your RE. You should not be running around as a RE wearing your “Citizen of Midgar/Junon” tag, or any other faction tag.
5. You must follow sim rules when it comes to FFRC/RP combat. FFRC combat takes priority over RP but again if all parties approve, RP combat can be used. Your RE’s ffrc should match how it attacks, physical using fighter hud and etc… And be realistic with how they attack, only humanoid types or machines would use guns, most creatures attack with fangs or claws, or by shooting projectiles.
**The RE group is giving a special hud, the RE FFRC. This hud is not given out to just anyone. They are giving out to people who have been with the group, and show they could be trusted with one. If your interested in applying for one contact myself or Kati but please keep in mind due to the abilities the hud offers, approval standards are high**
–Side notes–
Locations: Be Realistic with your RE’s and where they show up. You wouldn’t see a 20 foot dragon strolling down the upper plate, or walking around the inner city in Junon. So when playing a RE, try to have it fit where it shows up unless there is some plot that fits the occasion.
RP Wounding: Being that Random Encounters are not a main faction and can be ignored, you cannot RP wound someone UNLESS they inform you ahead of time they’d be ok with it.
Talking/Communication: Monsters can’t talk, and rarely hold higher intelligence of any kind. Some monsters can communicate to each other like real life animals can, but even then they can’t understand humans.
Stealing: Some RE’s can steal from players but it is limited to and ONLY Gil or items (Potions, Ethers small things like that) They CANNOT steal weapons/armor or ID cards nor can a RE give away the location of any hidden base (AVALANCHE, Gangs, etc..) even if there humanoid.
Avatars: When playing a RE you can use whatever monster/humanoid avatar you like, as long as it fits with the FF7 Universe. This means you can’t use avatars from different things, in example: Gundams as robots, Bahamut, Ifrit, Shiva or any other summon (from any game) avatar as random creatures, or similar. On very rare occasions they are ok’d for use, but need GM approval first.
All rules are subject to change, if your not sure on something always ask first. Any questions/concerns or needing of approval for something contact us (SL name: Citan Osumi / Katiroth Paravane) or any GM if were not online.
